In the scorching summer of 2024, I, Pankaj Kumar, embarked on a 4000+ km solo journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to raise awareness about pollution, global warming, and the power of sustainable energy. Spanning 60 days, the expedition covered 33 cities where I engaged with students, professors, army personnel, and officials—sharing the message of clean energy.

Traveling 100–250 km daily, I battled heatwaves, thunderstorms, and the challenges of solo travel to ignite conversations on solar power as a viable and essential solution for a greener India.

The Challenges

Facing extreme weather conditions like 50°C heat and thunderstorms, the physical strain was immense. But the toughest challenge was traveling alone—managing logistics, safety, and planning every step without support.

I began each day at dawn to minimize heat exposure, learning resilience through every obstacle India’s summer threw at me.

The Milestones

Over 60 days, I visited 33 cities and conducted sessions in schools, universities, and army camps. Every interaction—from professors in classrooms to soldiers at army bases—was a milestone.

The Impact

My journey touched thousands of lives, sparking discussions about climate change and the role of sustainable energy. People realized that solar energy isn’t just environmentally responsible but also a smart financial decision. This momentum led to the launch of Solaride, where we now help homes and industries switch to solar.
